MY STORY ...
I started over at 36. After a decade as a stay-at-home mom—which I genuinely loved—I found myself staring at a blank resume, wondering how the heck I was supposed to get back in the game.
Sure, I had been active that whole time… PTA president, team mom, volunteering up to my eyeballs—but none of that translated neatly into a job title. When I finally landed an entry-level role, it was in sales… and I had never sold a single thing in my life.
But I showed up. I asked questions. I was wildly coachable. Six months in, I saw a gap in the business, pitched an idea to my CEO, and to my surprise, she said yes.
That’s when things started to shift. Slowly but surely, I earned trust. Built momentum. Hired a team. Made plenty of mistakes. Learned hard lessons. And then? I grew into a leadership role. Then another. And another.
Thirteen years later, I’m the COO of a company that’s quadrupled in size—and I get to lead alongside a team that feels like family. I’m living proof that it’s never too late, and you’re never too far behind. Bet on yourself. It’ll be the best decision you ever make.Â
